Gries is a village just north of Strasbourg (35 mins) and very close to the town of Haguenau (12 mins), bursting with history and entertainment, from music festivals to craft markets. Attractive town centre with pedestrian zone, numerous shops, cafés, restaurants and parks. Richly decorated town with Christmas market for the festive season... a must-see!
The Vosges du Nord (around 35 minutes away) is a great place to explore typical Alsatian villages such as Hunspach (voted France's Favourite Village in 2020), Seebach, Cleebourg, Wissembourg and many others. There are many hiking trails between the forest and vineyards.
Pottery enthusiasts can visit the 2 pottery villages of Betschdorf and Soufflenheim (about 20 minutes away).
The area around Gries also offers well-marked cycle routes that will delight cycling enthusiasts.
Cycle bikes can be hired from Haguenau station, which is the starting point for cycle routes to the Northern Vosges.
The Black Forest in Germany, around 40 minutes from Gries, offers a wealth of sites, towns and sights to visit.
The Pavillon is located on the edge of the forest, with easy-to-walk paths to help you recharge your batteries.
The accommodation is located opposite the owners' house. It comprises a living room with sitting area, dining area and fully-equipped open-plan kitchen, a bedroom with double bed and a shower room with shower, washbasin and WC. There is also a cellar.
Outside, there is a private terrace and a parking space in the enclosed courtyard.
