What is a meublé de tourisme?

A meublé de tourisme is a furnished house, flat or studio for the exclusive use of the tenant, offered for rent to a passing customer who is staying for a period characterised by a daily, weekly or monthly rental and who does not live there.

The tourist accommodation is the subject of a ranking of 1 à 5 étoiles operating according to a ème à points system and is structured around 3 chapters:

• &Facilities and amenities (surface area, comfort equipment, state of cleanliness)
• Customer services (customer information, languages spoken, etc.)
• Accessibility and sustainable development (selective sorting, measures to reduce energy consumption, etc.)

The Meublé de Tourisme » classification is a voluntary national démarche that qualifies your seasonal rental. It is therefore optional and valid for 5 years. The classification is awarded following an inspection visit to your accommodation by a certified body. Gîtes de France Bas-Rhin operates throughout the Bas-Rhin to carry out meublé de tourisme classification visits.

What is the classification procedure?

A Gîtes de France Bas-Rhin advisor will carry out the visit and check the 112 criteria in the classification table drawn up by Atout France. This visit can take place in your presence or that of your representative.
2. Following the visit, we undertake to send you within one month the visit certificate including the inspection report as well as the inspection grid in approved formats and the classification decision.
3. You have 15 days in which to contest the decision.

How much does classification as a meublé de tourisme cost?

The cost of classification as a meublé de tourisme is 140€ for the first furnished accommodation; then 100€ per additional furnished accommodation (classified on the same day and located in the same building). Classification includes visiting the furnished accommodation(s) in your presence or that of your representative, drawing up and sending the classification documents (inspection grid, classification decision, visit certificate) within a maximum period of 3 months.
